Samsung Art PC Pulse showed at CES 2017

The announcement of the Samsung ArtPC Pulse super-computer took place in October 2016. But we managed to get to know better with this car at CES 2017 in Las Vegas. This is a premium computer that combines custom design and high performance.

Form factor

The non-standard shape of the computer – a cylindrical one – is far from new. Cylindrical Apple Mac Pros appeared back in 2013. But Samsung did not do without innovations. The computer added modular features. And it is worth noting that the assembly design looks quite serious.

Why Pulse?

The computer received the Pulse prefix in the name thanks to a light indicator on the case, which is configured and changes color depending on what is happening in the system itself. In particular, the color of the indicator may change if an e-mail message or any messenger is received, as well as upon receipt of notifications from social networks.

The computer has a metal case. Its diameter is about 14 centimeters and a height of about 30 centimeters. Thanks to these compact sizes, it can be easily installed on the table and it will even become a kind of design element for the room.

Characteristics Samsung ArtPC Pulse

  • Processor: Intel Core i5 or i7 (both 6 generations)
  • RAM: 8 or 16 GB
  • Storage capacity: 256 GB SSD, plus 1 TB hard drive module
  • Video Memory: AMD RX 4602 / GDDR5 2 GB
  • Connectors: 4 USB 3.0, 1 USB Type-C, HDMI, LAN

Harman Kardon Sound System

Completes the external design of the computer modular speaker from Harman Kardon with surround sound 360 degrees. Sound quality, according to Samsung, is close to high-end quality. It was hard to verify this due to the noisy environment at the exhibition. But the ability to customize sound using balance and audio effects adds points to it.
