The watch is equipped with a fully round display with a Super AMOLED matrix with a diameter of 1.3 “and a resolution of 360×360 pixels, which gives a density of 278 ppi. According to the characteristics, the display is not inferior to Samsung flagship screens – it has excellent color reproduction and picture clarity. The maximum brightness of the display is even excessive when using the device and it will be necessary only on the most sunny days.
The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass SR +, which has a high-quality oleophobic coating. adaptive brightness control, but it was not possible to find out exactly where the manufacturer placed the light sensor. At least, the presence of the sensor did not prevent the manufacturer from making a completely round display.
Interface
Gear S3 work on Samsung’s own operating system, Tizen 2.3.2, which allowed the manufacturer to implement an unusual interface and functions that are not in Android Wear. The fastest and most convenient way to manage the new interface was the bezel. It serves to scroll screens and lists, switch tracks in the player, change the brightness, volume, and has a number of functions that depend on the running application.
Thanks to this method of controlling the clock, the interaction with the gadget was extremely simplified: in most standard programs, the required action is selected by rotating the bezel, and confirmation is performed by pressing the center of the screen. Of course, they support the clock and a more familiar way of management – scrolling through the swipe and selecting the desired icon with a tap, but this is not so convenient.
Sync with smartphone
To control the clock from your smartphone from Google Play, you need to install the Samsung Gear application. The application can do almost nothing that the watch itself would not know how, but it allows you to quickly and conveniently configure the gadget.
Result
If you do not take into account professional gadgets like Garmin Fenix, Samsung Gear S3 classic can be called the most advanced mass smart watches on the market. The functionality of the device is impressive even out of the box, not to mention the possibility of installing third-party programs and dials.
Activity tracking applications work fully automatically – you just wear a watch on your hand, and in the evening you open S Health and get detailed statistics. If you exercise or fitness on a regular basis, you can indicate to the watch which of the 16 exercises should be monitored and, while you strain the muscles, the gadget will do the rest for you, again, providing detailed statistics. At the same time, the watches do not look like a sports accessory and successfully combine the features of classic and modern design.
